Day 7 - Thankfulness and Picture
Ephesians 5:1-2 "Be imitators of God as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Day 7 - Thankfulness -
Today I am thankful for mercy. The dictionary defines it as "compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, enemy or other person; benevolence, pity, compassion." The case with Eric Tillman has made me think about mercy. God's mercy, not man's mercy. Man's mercy is based on whether or not he/she wants to forgive us and be merciful when we've wronged them. God's mercy is based on what Christ has done for us. He has already forgiven us our sins and is merciful if we accept the gift of His Son. Sometimes I have a hard time grasping how merciful God is when I foul up so badly. But, He is always ready to forgive us if we come to Him and ask for it. It is amazing to me how patient He is with us. Shouldn't our being merciful be the same? I think we should realize how much it cost the Lord God to send His Son as a sacrifice for us and that should help us to be merciful when the occasion calls for it. "Thank you, Lord for the mercy You have shown to us over and over and please help us to give back to others in the same way."
Day 7 - Picture -
I can't believe I took this picture, but it was so cold today and my back and pain pills kept me from going outside or anywhere else. Jodi and family went to Disney World before Christmas and I asked them to buy me a set of Minnie Mouse ears. I had a pair when I was a kid and I've always wanted another. I loved the Mickey Mouse club and watched it every day. I still remember the "Adventures of Spin and Marty" and the stories with Annette Funicello. And, of course, the cartoons with Mickey, Donald, Minnie and Chip and Dale (my favorites). It's all a part of my childhood - plus it's the only hat that actually fits and looks half-decent on me! Ha!!
