2010

I am trying for 365 pictures of the year 2010. It's hard - next year: 52 pictures - one for each WEEK of the year! My life is too "bland" to take a picture every day of something worthwhile!

Day - 21 Thankfulness

"There's a peace in my heart that the world never gave A peace it cannot take away. Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud I've a peace that has come there to stay. Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine. Constantly abiding, rapture divine. He never leaves me lonely Whispers oh so kind 'I will never leave thee' Jesus is mine."

Day 21 - Today I am thankful for antihistamines. I have been taking them for years for my sinuses. I inherited my dad's hay fever, only mine is all year 'round and I am constantly taking something to clear up the stuffiness, etc. Today, after supper, my nose started itching. You know the saying, "Itchy nose, kiss a fool"? Well, there were no fools around (and no Dale is NOT one!), so I just scratched. I've had my regular rash for months now, but the itchy nose was new. Plus, the rash started itching and my back and almost everywhere - eyes running and itching, too. Couldn't figure out what in the world was wrong. Finally, I decided to take a Reactine, just to see if it would help. Lo and behold about an hour later I realized I was itching anymore. So, I guess something caused a wierd allergic reaction. We hadn't eaten anything different or unusual for supper, so don't know what caused it, but I am thankful for the antihistamine. They have come a very long way since I used them when I was a teen and the non-drowsy is probably the best. I really don't know what people did before antihistamines, however, maybe there weren't as many things to react to way back then. Except dust and pollen, but who knows, it was SO prevalent, maybe it just didn't bother them. Hmmm...
