2010

I am trying for 365 pictures of the year 2010. It's hard - next year: 52 pictures - one for each WEEK of the year! My life is too "bland" to take a picture every day of something worthwhile!

Day 3 - Thankfulness and picture

Psalm 104:1 "Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty."
Day 3 Thankfulness
Today I am thankful for shiny things. I truly believe that God in His goodness has given us things in nature that are beautiful and that we are supposed to enjoy looking at. I LOVE shiny things. I like stars that twinkle, gems that glitter, the way the new snow looks when the sun shines on it, the leaves that sparkle with dew or raindrops, icicles shining in the sun. I just love shiny things. I was watching a documentary on the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II and I thought, "My granddaughters would love to see this!" Her crown was sparkling with jewels, as was the scepter and other things that were used in the ceremony. The queen mother, Queen Elizabeth, sparkled, as did the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret. It is no wonder we are enthralled with all this pomp and circumstance. It glitters and is so gorgeous! The Bible says that Heaven will be like that -all sparkle and glitter with gold and jewels. I guess that is why God put them here on earth to enjoy and for us to get a taste of the kingdom to come. So, the next time I see something shiny, I'm going to think of Heaven and thank God for it (the shiny thing and heaven, too).
Day 3 Picture - This is one of my favorite mugs I use to drink coffee with. It was given to me by a very good friend, just because she knew I liked to watch the commercials with the M&M candies in them and she thought of me when she saw this. How sweet is that? Well, the first time Lucas saw it, he was quite perturbed that I would have such a thing in my house, let alone be using it! And why? Because the "Punk of NASCAR" and the racer none of the boys like is Kyle Busch and he drives the M&M car! Oh well, it is still one of my favorite mugs!
