I am thankful today for something I call "Papa Time". It is the time Dale gets to spend with his grandsons. They get to know him and play with him and learn to love him. I love watching him play with the grandsons. He makes them peanut butter and honey sandwiches and tries really hard to make them and cut them the right way. He gets up with them in the night and generally does everything with them. Not that he doesn't have "Papa Time" with the girls as well, but Erin rarely will talk to him or look at him (or just about any man for that matter), but Bethany will do stuff with him. Just not too much "boy" stuff. They usually aren't here unless I am, however, the boys can be here without me being here. He loves being with them, but feels his age afterward. That's my one big regret about my kids and my dad. They never really got to know him very well. He was wonderful with his other grandkids and with mine as well, whenever we were together. We were just too far away to see each other often and then he was taken way too soon. Guess they'll just have to catch up in heaven. Anyway, I am thankful Dale has the health and time to be with the boys as much as he wants. God is good.
Day 16 - Picture - Dale took most of the pictures of he and Xander playing together. They got up together really early, so I had to quick grab a few after I got up and before Jason and Sandra came to pick him up. Here they were playing "Candyland". Dale said they played "Mousetrap", "Nascar Monopoly" and they tried to play "Racko". Great fun!
