Day 26 - I am thankful for today's technology. I remember a time when you had to phone someone over and over and over if you wanted to get hold of them and maybe they weren't home. You couldn't wait for them to get home and check their "messages" - no answering machines. Or wait until they checked their "call display" to see who had phoned, no display phones. Or "email" them or check on "facebook" to find out how they are doing, no internet. As we used to say in my day "We've come a long way, baby". Sometimes it is frustrating to have all this technology, but today when a friend of mine couldn't get in touch with her kids and was very worried (she lives far away), she contacted me on facebook to see if I knew where they were. She found out quickly that they were ok. I think of my camera, too. It wasn't that long ago that we took pictures and hoped they turned out ok (like on one's eyes were closed - right Jen?). Now, we hit the review button and we know exactly how they'll be. I've been working on our wedding album and some of our pictures were awful. Even the photographers! I really am thankful for today's technology that allows us the freedom to "talk" to people miles and miles away by phone, email, fb, skype, whatever you have. And to see those precious irreplaceable pictures right now. So cool!
(In case you are wondering why I put a verse or part of a song at the beginning of my blog - I decided to do it because one of the first verses was a favorite of mine. Then, I just did it with a verse that would come to mind during the day. Now, I've been doing with songs, as they come to mind, as well. Just something I do for me - and for you, too, enjoy!)
